Congress general secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala has condemned Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot’s decision to grant prosecution permission against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA alternative site scam, branding it an act of political vendetta orchestrated by the Modi-led central government.
In a statement, Surjewala accused the Governor of acting under the influence of the BJP to defame and destabilize the democratically elected Congress government in Karnataka. He claimed that the BJP, unable to accept its electoral defeat, has resorted to using the Governor to carry out its conspiracy.
Surjewala further alleged that this move aims to tarnish the image of Siddaramaiah and the Congress party's promises to benefit the people of Karnataka. He vowed that Congress would fight this battle both legally and in the people's court to ensure the truth prevails.
