Political Parties Oppose BJP's Lateral Entry Initiative

The Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have criticized the government's move to seek lateral entry into the bureaucracy, calling it a BJP conspiracy to appoint ideological allies to high posts. They warn this method restricts current officers and youth, threatens reservations, and undermines constitutional rights.

Opposition parties, including the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), have lambasted the government's decision to seek lateral entry into the bureaucracy, describing it as a BJP attempt to place ideological supporters in high positions.

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav announced plans for nationwide protests beginning October 2, criticizing the initiative as a scheme to eliminate reservation and deny opportunities to current and future officers, ultimately favoring individuals aligned with BJP ideology.

BSP chief Mayawati echoed these sentiments, arguing that the new policy would deprive lower-ranking employees of promotions and violate constitutional provisions regarding appointments from SC, ST, and OBC categories. Meanwhile, the Modi government advertised 45 specialist positions through the Union Public Service Commission as part of its plan to infuse fresh talent into governance.
