U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris kicks off her presidential campaign in Pennsylvania before heading to Chicago for the Democratic National Convention. Opinion polls indicate Harris is gaining ground on Donald Trump. Harris' campaign includes a bus tour in critical Pennsylvania counties, with the goal of maintaining Democratic gains from 2020.

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is set to launch her presidential campaign in Pennsylvania before heading to Chicago for the Democratic National Convention. Harris aims to take on Donald Trump in the upcoming November election and is already showing signs of closing the gap in opinion polls.

Democratic Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker highlighted the enthusiasm surrounding Harris' campaign, comparing it to the energy felt during Barack Obama's historic 2008 convention. If elected, Harris would be the first woman president, combining her Black and Asian heritage.

Harris, accompanied by running mate Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, plans a pivotal bus tour through key regions in Pennsylvania. This comes amidst Trump's attacks on Harris, labeling her a 'radical' and a 'lunatic,' suggesting he finds her an easier opponent than Joe Biden. Following her Pennsylvania stops, Harris will proceed to Chicago for the Democratic National Convention, where Biden is expected to endorse her as the party's nominee.
