The mother of a doctor who allegedly died from rape and murder at RG Kar Medical College accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the police of a cover-up. She criticized the law enforcement for failing in their duties and claimed the CM was stifling protests.
Speaking to ANI, she revealed the hospital initially told her that her daughter was ill, then later said she had committed suicide. The mother alleged that the condition of the body indicated otherwise, asserting it was a murder and not a suicide.
Highlighting further grievances, she alleged the police rushed the post-mortem and were uncooperative. The parents have called on citizens nationwide to support them until justice is served. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has taken notice, with a hearing set for August 20.
