Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday lashed out at the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress, accusing them of being anti-reservation. She criticized their silence on the Supreme Court's decision to allow sub-classification within Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) reservations.
Mayawati argued that the conduct and character of SP, Congress, and other parties have always been anti-reservation, evidenced by their non-participation in Bharat Bandh. She questioned their ambiguous stance on the Supreme Court's ruling, raising doubts about their support for SC/ST reservations.
Highlighting the importance of vigilance, Mayawati underscored that SP, Congress, and other parties appear internally united against reservation. She urged SCs, STs, and Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to defend their reservation rights, constitution, and caste census proactively.
