The Himachal Pradesh Assembly commenced its historic ten-day monsoon session on Tuesday. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu arrived early in the morning to a ceremonial start with a guard of honour and a warm welcome from Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan.
Before the session, the Congress Legislature Party held a strategy meeting led by State President Pratibha Singh. Key Congress leaders attended the gathering to align their strategies for the upcoming discussions. Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the importance of this unprecedented extended session, stating, "This is the first time a session of this length is being held in the state Assembly. We have taken this decision to ensure that issues of public interest are thoroughly discussed."
Sukhu also expressed disappointment over the opposition's absence from the all-party meeting and urged them to engage actively in the session. He emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to address public concerns and drive positive outcomes. The session will cover economic challenges, social issues, and developmental agendas to comprehensively address the concerns of Himachal Pradesh's citizens.
