Congress-AAP Talks: Potential Alliance in Haryana's Poll Landscape

The Congress and the AAP are exploring a potential alliance for the upcoming Haryana Assembly polls, contingent on a 'win-win' situation. Both parties are negotiating seat sharing, with the AAP seeking nine seats and the Congress offering seven. Prominent wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat might contest on Congress tickets.

The Congress party has stated that an alliance with the AAP for the Haryana Assembly elections is possible only if it benefits both parties. The AAP would be allocated a single-digit number of seats, as revealed by Congress state in-charge Deepak Babaria.

In efforts to strike a deal, AAP MP Raghav Chadha engaged in talks with Babaria. However, concrete decisions on the seat allocations have yet to be made.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia emphasized the party's commitment to defeating the BJP, even if it means aligning with the Congress. Discussions are ongoing, with both sides having held two rounds of negotiations. Additionally, possible candidates Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat are in talks to contest on Congress tickets in the upcoming polls.
