Amazon Sues U.S. Labor Board Over Union Election Interference

Amazon.com filed a lawsuit on Thursday accusing a U.S. labor board of illegally interfering in a union election at a New York City warehouse. The lawsuit claims the agency's structure violates the U.S. Constitution.
The case, filed in San Antonio, Texas, federal court, aims to block the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from deciding a dispute that would compel Amazon to negotiate with the union after it won the 2022 election at a Staten Island warehouse.
Last week, the labor board upheld the election results, dismissing Amazon's accusations that the vote was compromised by the actions of workers, union organizers, and board officials. Amazon further argues that the board's enforcement procedures infringe on the constitutional separation of powers and the company's right to a jury trial. Other companies, including SpaceX, Starbucks, and Trader Joe's, have lodged similar complaints against the board.
