Sunil Sangwan, the BJP candidate from Dadri Assembly seat and former jailer who oversaw Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's multiple paroles, claimed that the Congress was attempting to defame him. He emphasized that the Congress's defeat in Dadri is inevitable.

"My family has been associated with BJP for the past thirty years. From the moment my candidature was announced, the Congress party felt that they would lose from the Dadri assembly constituency," Sangwan remarked, adding that he rejected Ram Rahim's parole requests thrice in the past. He clarified that the responsibility for granting paroles lies with the recommending authority and not with him.

Sangwan served as the Jail superintendent at Rohtak Jail for five years before taking VRS to contest the elections. Gurmeet Ram Rahim is currently serving a 20-year jail term in Sunaria Jail for raping two of his disciples.

In other news, Olympian wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat joined the Congress Party, giving a significant boost to its campaign. The event saw the presence of Congress general secretary KC Venugopal, party leader Pawan Khera, Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan, and AICC in-charge of Haryana, Deepak Babaria.

Upon joining, Vinesh Phogat remarked, "The fight continues, and we will win. With this new platform, we'll continue serving the nation with the same dedication we showed in our sports careers." Phogat expressed gratitude towards the Congress for standing with women and vowed to support her sisters through the party. Polling in Haryana will be held on October 5, and the votes will be counted on October 8.
