CM Dhami Criticizes Rahul Gandhi Over Anti-Reservation Comments

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami slammed Rahul Gandhi for comments on reservation made during a Georgetown University event, accusing him of fostering anti-constitutional thinking. Dhami alleged Gandhi's remarks were divisive and politically selfish, and criticised his stance on Sikhism and national security.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, over his recent statements on reservation, describing them as reflective of 'anti-constitutional thinking'. Dhami emphasized that Gandhi’s remarks exposed the anti-constitutional mindset of the Congress and the INDIA alliance.

During an interaction with students and faculty at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, Rahul Gandhi suggested that the Congress Party would consider scrapping reservations when India becomes a 'fair place'. In response, Dhami accused Gandhi of perpetuating divisive forces and habitually aligning against national interests.

Dhami further contended that Gandhi’s comments are indicative of political selfishness and frustration towards Prime Minister Modi. Detailing Gandhi's remarks at Georgetown, he quoted Gandhi as saying that Dalits, Adivasis, and OBC communities still lack adequate representation in the system. Dhami criticised Gandhi for questioning India's strong image abroad and implied that such statements weaken national integrity.

In a separate context, Dhami criticized Gandhi's remarks on Sikhs, accusing him of undermining Sikh confidence and India's cultural unity. Drawing a sharp comparison, Dhami likened Gandhi's language to that of a designated terrorist.
