In a significant diplomatic move, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval have committed to improving bilateral relations during their recent meeting in Russia, the Foreign Ministry of China confirmed on Friday. The talks occurred on the margins of the BRICS meeting in St Petersburg.
Discussions centered around the progress made in recent border consultations, highlighting the importance of stability in China-India relations for regional peace and development. Both parties emphasized enhancing mutual understanding and maintaining continuous communication.
India and China agreed to expedite efforts to achieve complete disengagement in the remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh. The meeting underscored the significance of peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) for normalizing bilateral ties.
