Omar Abdullah Challenges Amit Shah's Stance on Stone Pelters in J&K

Amit Shah, during an election rally, stressed against talks with Pakistan and assured that no terrorists or stone pelters would be freed.

After Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared that "No stone pelter will be released in Jammu and Kashmir," National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah responded on Monday, asserting that everyone has the right to prove their innocence. Abdullah highlighted that many detainees have not had cases initiated against them.

Shah delivered his remarks at an election rally in Nowshera, emphasizing the need to uphold the revocation of Article 370 despite opposition demands. He ruled out any dialogue with Pakistan until terrorism is eradicated and assured that the BJP will not free any terrorists or stone pelters from jail.

Addressing the issue of reservation, Shah accused the opposition of depriving people in hilly regions of their rights. He commended Prime Minister Modi for ensuring reservations. The first phase of voting in the Jammu and Kashmir elections registered a 61.13 percent turnout across 24 constituencies. The remaining phases will be held on September 25 and October 5, with vote counting on October 8.
