Rahul Gandhi: A 'Booster Dose' for the INDIA Bloc as Leader of Opposition

Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh described Rahul Gandhi's role as Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha as a 'booster dose' for the INDIA bloc, highlighting his aggressive stance and agenda-setting capabilities. Ramesh emphasized the need to strengthen the alliance further with a common agenda for future success.

In a significant endorsement, Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh declared Rahul Gandhi's new role as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha as a 'booster dose' for the INDIA bloc. Ramesh highlighted that the LoP is akin to a 'shadow prime minister' in a parliamentary system.

Ramesh stressed the imperative need for the INDIA bloc to solidify its unity and establish a shared agenda moving forward. He shared that Gandhi, in his short tenure as the LoP, has made a considerable impact by vocalizing people’s issues and setting the political agenda.

With Congress' Sachin Pilot and Abhishek Singhvi also expressing faith in Gandhi’s potential as a future prime minister, Ramesh cautioned against looking too far ahead, emphasizing the importance of incremental progress. The leadership qualities of Gandhi were especially noted during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, reflecting a renewed vigor within the party and the bloc.
