In a fiery address, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of favoring billionaire Adani at the expense of farmers, claiming Modi prioritizes Adani's demands over public welfare.
Speaking at a poll rally in Thanesar, Gandhi asserted the need to break the 'Chakravyuh' of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He lamented a scenario where farmers and laborers struggle for survival while a privileged few lead extravagant lives. 'We don't want such an India,' he declared.
Gandhi underlined his party's focus on public welfare programs like land acquisition, MANREGA, and the right to food. 'If billionaires' loans can be waived off, so should the loans of farmers and laborers,' he argued. He recounted his interactions with struggling youths in America, emphasizing the dire employment situation in Haryana. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi also criticized the BJP for policies that label farmers as anti-nationals, pushing for a change in governance.
