Congress Wrestles with Haryana Defeat: Analysis & Future Steps

The Congress leadership held a review meeting to analyze their unexpected defeat in the Haryana assembly elections. The top brass of Congress, spearheaded by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, convened a review meeting on Thursday to address their unexpected defeat in the Haryana assembly elections.

Participants included key figures like former party chief Rahul Gandhi, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, and senior observers Ashok Gehlot and Ajay Maken along with other state secretaries. AICC's Deepak Babaria also joined online.

The party discussed the reasons behind the loss, citing discrepancies in EVMs and internal conflicts. A day prior, Congress demanded a probe into EVM issues and engaged with Election Commission officials to address complaints, particularly regarding EVM battery capacities. The BJP retained power with 48 seats, defying exit poll predictions.
