In a significant diplomatic development, China announced on Wednesday that its military, alongside India, is actively implementing resolutions aimed at disengagement along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian, addressing a media briefing, mentioned that the two countries have amicably reached agreements concerning the border. The execution of these resolutions is currently underway, although details remain undisclosed.
The disengagement process commenced on October 2 at the Demchok and Depsang Plains after an agreement between India and China. This progress follows the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash, signaling a de-escalation of longstanding tensions. High-level endorsements by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the BRICS Summit further cement this initiative.
