The BJP has strongly refuted claims made by Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala regarding the alleged dismantling of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farm produce. Calling the allegations a 'big fat lie,' BJP IT department head Amit Malviya criticized Surjewala for making unfounded statements.
Surjewala accused the BJP-led government of reducing paddy procurement in Punjab and Haryana, suggesting a conspiracy to ultimately abolish MSP. However, Malviya assured that procurement is ongoing and will meet the projected targets by the end of November in both states.
Emphasizing the increased MSP rates, Malviya accused the Congress of misleading farmers with false claims and alleged that Congress policies, particularly in Karnataka, are harming farmers by transferring land to the Waqf Board. He predicted electoral setbacks for Congress in upcoming elections.
