Ramgoolam's Landslide Victory in Mauritius Elections

In a decisive win, the Alliance de Changement (ADC), led by Navin Ramgoolam, has emerged victorious in the Mauritius general elections, securing 62.6% of the votes. This outcome grants Ramgoolam a remarkable fourth term in office.
The ADC clinched 60 of the 62 legislative seats, as reported by the state broadcaster Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation. Ramgoolam, a three-time former premier, has announced his intentions to dismantle the country's "spying system" to ensure greater freedom of speech for Mauritians.
Conceding defeat, incumbent Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth acknowledged his alliance's substantial loss. Jugnauth expressed his efforts to serve the nation but accepted the electoral outcome.
