The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) convened a core group meeting on Wednesday at the Parliament House, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, to discuss strategies for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, expected in early 2025. Key figures present included the party election in-charge Baijayant Panda and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva.
The meeting comes on the heels of another significant gathering, led by BJP National President JP Nadda, which took place at the party's headquarters on Tuesday evening to deliberate over election strategies. The discussions, which lasted nearly two hours, centered on the Delhi Assembly elections and organizational elections, with party sources indicating that the first list of candidates will be revealed shortly.
Amid the rising political activities, BJP National Election Officer K Laxman and Joint in-charge Sambit Patra played critical roles in the discussions. They also touched upon the upcoming Good Governance Day on December 25 and the observance of Veer Bal Diwas. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has already announced its candidate lineup, having won a formidable 62 out of 70 seats in the last assembly elections.
