Mallikarjun Kharge, the Congress chief, has chosen not to discuss potential leadership changes within the party's Karnataka unit. Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has been the president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) since 2020.

Kharge confirmed that appointments for state presidents will occur in two to three states soon. Recent changes, like the appointment of a backward class president in Odisha, are part of a larger reorganization process across India.

Despite inquiries about Karnataka's party president, Kharge remains tight-lipped, indicating that the media's tendency to 'add spices' dissuades leaders from revealing plans prematurely. Kharge emphasized continued appointments and cautioned the media against speculative reporting, which creates confusion.
