Taiwan, a global chip leader, aims to contribute to international prosperity despite criticism regarding its defense budget.

As the largest contract chipmaker, TSMC plans significant investments in the U.S. despite market fluctuations. U.S.-Taiwan trade relations remain robust, yet Lai's government faces domestic budgetary challenges in increasing defense spending amid political opposition.
