In a strategic meeting, China's Premier Li Qiang expressed the nation's intent to reinforce political trust and collaboration with the Cook Islands. The announcement was made during a meeting with Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown, as reported by China's national television.
The two countries aim to enhance joint efforts in marine infrastructure, cultural interactions, and various sectors, according to Li. Prime Minister Brown participated in the Asian Winter Games' closing ceremony in Harbin.
This visit, a decade in the making for a leader from the Cook Islands, has not gone unnoticed, particularly in New Zealand, given its unique political relationship with the Cook Islands.
