In a historic move, the Congress party is set to host its All India Congress Committee (AICC) session in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, for the first time in over six decades. This marks the third occasion in the party's 139-year-old history that Gujarat will host the session, with the last event held in Bhavnagar in 1961.

Scheduled for April 8-9, the AICC session will focus on combating the policies of the ruling BJP, which the Congress accuses of being anti-people and undermining the Constitution. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will lead these vital discussions, alongside prominent leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Gujarat Congress President Shaktisinh Gohil highlighted the significance of holding the event in the birth state of national icons Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel. However, Gohil also criticized the BJP government for allegedly inflating budget figures and neglecting to pass benefits to the public.
