Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has announced the state's readiness for what he terms 'another language war' amidst ongoing tensions concerning Hindi imposition. This statement came during a press conference following a Cabinet meeting, where strategic decisions were laid out, including holding an all-party assembly on March 5 to discuss the looming Lok Sabha delimitation issue. According to Stalin, Tamil Nadu faces the prospect of losing eight parliamentary seats due to effective population control measures, which have succeeded under the state's family planning initiatives.

The proposed all-party meeting will include representatives of political parties registered with the Election Commission of India. Stalin urged political unity to tackle the challenges at hand, transcending party lines. When asked about the implications of the three-language policy in the context of the National Education Policy, Stalin pointed out the necessity of having enough representation in Parliament to voice concerns over central issues like NEP, central funding, and NEET examinations. He emphasized the potential loss of Tamil Nadu's representation, underlining the gravity of delimitation as a challenge for the state's rights.

The Chief Minister further expressed concerns over the central government's alleged attempts at 'sowing the seeds for another language war' through Hindi imposition. Reaffirming Tamil Nadu's opposition to the three-language policy, Stalin highlighted the state's contentment with Tamil and English, accusing the BJP-led NDA government of marginalizing regional voices through its policies. The state stands firm against what it sees as an imposition that could stifle its representation and rights in the national political arena.
