Leftists: The True Third Alternative in West Bengal, Asserts CPI(M)

In a bold assertion, CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat declared the Leftist forces as the 'true third alternative' in West Bengal. His comments came during a public meeting in Dankuni, Hooghly district, following a four-day state conference.

Karat criticized both the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for their respective failures to serve as alternatives to one another and warned against the BJP-led RSS's plans to promote Hindu fanaticism in the state. He emphasized the CPI(M)'s commitment to opposing any divisive actions.

The CPI(M)'s former dominance in West Bengal has waned, with the party failing to secure seats in recent elections. Despite facing challenges from the TMC, including alleged false criminal cases, Karat pledged continued resistance against communal forces and corruption, while advocating for rural development and women's safety.
