BJP Demands Probe into Hazaribag Violence in Jharkhand Assembly

On Thursday, the BJP brought attention to the violence in Ichak, Hazaribag, during Maha Shivaratri, raising the matter in the Jharkhand assembly. The opposition party demanded a thorough investigation into the clashes that left several injured.

The conflict arose over disputes regarding religious flag installations and the use of loudspeakers, escalating into a community clash. BJP legislators disrupted the assembly proceedings, seeking assurance of a fair investigation and urging the government to restore peace.

During the session, Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato assured BJP members their concerns would be heard, urging them to proceed with the question hour. Meanwhile, BJP's Barkatha MLA Amit Yadav requested the intervention of Minister Irfan Ansari, demanding an apology for accusations against BJP workers. BJP's Hazaribag MLA Pradeep Prasad also suggested an assembly committee should investigate the matter.
