Fiery Exchange in Lok Sabha: Trinamool and DMK Clash Over NEP
In a heated Lok Sabha session, Kalyan Banerjee of Trinamool Congress and DMK's Kanimozhi clashed over alleged voter list discrepancies and the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. In a spirited session of the Lok Sabha on Monday, Trinamool Congress's Kalyan Banerjee and DMK's Kanimozhi were embroiled in a sharp exchange over pressing issues.
The discord began when Banerjee sought to address alleged discrepancies in the voter list during Zero Hour, a move that met with protests from DMK members led by Kanimozhi. The DMK was vocal about discussing what they view as the imposed federalism infringed by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
As Banerjee continued his remarks amidst the uproar, tensions peaked with a verbal tussle, further fueled by the presence of NCP's Supriya Sule, who attempted to mediate. The contention stemmed from the NEP's three-language formula, which the DMK argues facilitates Hindi imposition in Tamil Nadu.
