Shrishailya Utage, the Congress president for Latur district (rural), has resigned following the party's defeat in the recent elections.
Utage cited 'moral responsibility' for the loss in the Latur Rural and Ausa constituencies as the reason for stepping down. His resignation was submitted to the newly-appointed Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president, Harshawardhan Sapkal.
