In a key development, a Delhi court granted bail to RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav and several others embroiled in the Land for Jobs scam. The decision drew a notable reaction from Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who underscored the significance of maintaining integrity during testing times. 'If you remain pure, no matter how many tests you face, what is the worry?' remarked Sinha, emphasizing that honesty would prevail despite challenges.
Further elaborating, Sinha stated, 'If some corrupt people make Malpua and eat it, the people of Bihar will serve pure and sacred dishes after a 36-hour rigorous test.' The court ruling followed an earlier summons that brought Tej Pratap Yadav and other accused to court. Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad Yadav and family sought exemptions from appearance.
The ruling allowed bail upon the submission of personal and surety bonds, with the next hearing set for March 20. The court's move to acknowledge the Central Bureau of Investigation's three chargesheets, including those implicating former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav and 77 others, highlights the gravity of allegations. These entailed unlawful property transfers in exchange for railway appointments, made without public notices, during 2004-2009.
