President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced on Tuesday that a 30-day ceasefire was agreed upon in a Ukraine-US meeting held in Saudi Arabia. He emphasized that the ceasefire will commence immediately if Russia decides to accept the agreement.
"Ukraine is ready to accept this proposal - we see it as a positive step and are ready to take it," Zelenskiy stated on the social media platform, X. The President highlighted that the responsibility lies with the United States to persuade Russia to agree to the terms.
This development could mark a significant move towards peace if Russia joins the agreement, thereby creating a potential path to reduced tensions in the region.
