The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has strongly criticized several BJP leaders for making 'provocative' remarks before the Holi festival, which coincides with Friday prayers during Ramzan.
In a statement following a Politburo meeting on March 11-12, CPI(M) condemned remarks by BJP ministers and MLAs from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. They stressed that such comments fuel tensions and instill fear within the Muslim community.
CPI(M) urged the government to take measures to ensure Holi is celebrated peacefully, preventing any communal discord. They also raised concerns about the delimitation's potential impact on southern states and criticized US tariffs on Indian goods, demanding a stronger stance from the Modi government.
