An Emirati diplomat, previously reported by Tehran as carrying a letter from U.S. President Donald Trump, met with Iran's foreign minister on Wednesday, signaling a possible diplomatic thaw.
The meeting, captured by Iranian state television, involved Emirati official Anwar Gargash in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, amid heightened tensions over Tehran's nuclear program.
Although the letter wasn't shown in the footage, Tehran had earlier stated that Gargash was tasked with delivering Trump's letter to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, with hopes of resuming dialogue over nuclear issues.
