Metal debris discovered across three villages in Amritsar district has sparked concerns over potential missile activity, with locals claiming they belong to missiles. Police have initiated an investigation to identify the objects.
The incident comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, as the Indian defense ministry confirmed thwarting Pakistani military attempts to target multiple locations across northern and western India using missiles and drones. This includes a reported destruction of a Pakistani air defense system in Lahore.
In response, India conducted military operations targeting terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The strikes are believed to be retaliation for a recent militant attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam that killed 26 people.
