Leadership Overhaul: Congress Party's New Dawn in Kerala

In a decisive move, the Congress party has initiated a comprehensive leadership overhaul in Kerala. The party replaced K Sudhakaran MP with Sunny Joseph, a three-time MLA, to head the party in the state.

Alongside Joseph's appointment, the AICC has introduced three new working presidents: P C Vishnunath, A P Anil Kumar, and Shafi Parambil. Adoor Prakash has been named the new UDF convenor, succeeding M M Hassan. These adjustments come as the party braces for local body and assembly elections, slated for later this year and mid-2026, respectively.

This shift aims to realign the party's strategies amid growing concerns of waning support from the Christian community, historically a strong ally of the Congress-led UDF. Joseph, emphasizing unity, plans to collaborate closely with top leaders and district committees to secure electoral success.
