Amid rising tensions in the Middle East, Sri Lanka has urged for diplomatic solutions to address the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. The call comes after US military action targeted Iran's nuclear sites. In a statement, Sri Lanka's Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed serious concern over recent developments.
The ministry's statement called for all involved parties to return to the negotiating table. Emphasizing the importance of dialogue, the ministry urged stakeholders to engage in diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation and ensure regional stability.
US President Donald Trump announced that the military's strikes on Iran's Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz nuclear sites were successful. He also warned of further military action should Iran choose to retaliate, heightening the international gaze on potential fallout from this conflict.
