On Thursday, the Congress sharply criticized the Modi government for remaining silent on what they describe as the 'unspeakable horrors' inflicted on Palestinians in Gaza by Israeli authorities.
Citing alleged acts of ethnic cleansing, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed the Indian government displayed 'moral cowardice' by staying mute to avoid displeasing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
As calls for a ceasefire grow, the severity of the humanitarian situation becomes more pressing, with reports stating 48 Palestinians have died of malnutrition in a month.
