In a scathing critique, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has denounced the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab for allegedly employing vigilance police to intimidate political adversaries. Chugh's remarks come in the wake of recent raids conducted by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau at the residence of Ranjit Singh Gill, a new BJP inductee.

Chugh accuses the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, of transforming the state into a personal playground where police agencies operate akin to a private militia. He asserts that such strategies will only backfire and that the people of Punjab will not remain silent in the face of these alleged injustices.

The BJP leader stresses that the issue transcends individual cases, highlighting what he terms the 'erosion' of civil liberties under the 'draconian' rule of the AAP. Vowing to take the matter to public and legal forums, he warns that Punjab's sovereignty cannot be undermined by such tactics. The legal advisor, LK Verma, has echoed these sentiments, criticizing the repeated intimidation of opposition leaders.
