SIMBEX 2025: Strengthening Maritime Ties Between Singapore and India

The Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) was successfully completed in 2025, affirming the strong naval partnership between Singapore and India. The exercise involved complex warfare drills and shared best practices, underscoring a long-standing and evolving military collaboration in maritime security and operations.

The Republic of Singapore Navy and the Indian Navy concluded their annual Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) on August 1, 2025. Held in two phases, the event marked a significant deepening of military cooperation between the two nations.

The shore phase at RSS Singapura-Changi Naval Base included joint planning and training, while the sea phase in the South China Sea featured complex military drills involving ships and aircraft from both navies. The successful execution highlighted the maturing bilateral ties.

Since its inception in 1994, SIMBEX has grown in complexity, now including air, surface, and sub-surface military operations. This year's exercises coincide with the 60th anniversary of Singapore-India diplomatic relations, celebrating a robust and enduring partnership.
