According to the military's information office statement, he died at a military hospital in the capital, Naypyitaw, on Thursday morning. Persistent health issues had plagued him since last year, forcing him to relinquish active presidential duties more than a year prior.

Although his funeral will be held at the state level, the date remains undisclosed. Myint Swe's death marks the end of a career rooted in military alliances and political maneuvering, as he played crucial roles both in maintaining military control and navigating political tensions within Myanmar.
