Ukrainian President Volodmyr Zelenskiy on Friday voiced concerns that Russia is deliberately obstructing his planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Addressing this concern, Zelenskiy urged Ukraine's allies to impose additional sanctions on Moscow if no progress is made towards ending Russia's ongoing invasion.
Speaking at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Kyiv, Zelenskiy highlighted the need for international security guarantees for Ukraine. He advocated for assurances comparable to NATO's Article 5, which treats an attack on one alliance member as an attack on all members.
As tensions continue to rise, Zelenskiy's call for robust sanctions reflects growing frustration over stalled diplomatic processes and underlines the importance of international support for Ukraine in these critical times.
