On Tuesday, political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of pressuring three Jan Suraaj Party candidates to retract their Bihar election nominations.
During a press conference, Kishor alleged that the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was threatening opposition candidates to bolster their own chances of victory.
Kishor's party now competes on 240 seats after the withdrawal of their candidates from Danapur, Brahampur, and Gopalganj. He called for the Election Commission to secure candidate safety, warning against the replication of BJP's 'Surat model' strategy.
