Bihar is abuzz with political fervor as the 2025 Assembly elections approach, with Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary voicing firm belief in the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) electoral prowess. Comparing the political clash to the Mahabharata, Choudhary commented, 'History tells us that there are indeed five Pandavas, but "Kauravas are bound" to lose no matter their numbers.' The battle for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly will unfold with polling on November 6 and November 11, culminating in vote counting on November 14.
In an interview with ANI, Choudhary emphasized the NDA's clear agenda focused on development and service delivery in Bihar, stating, 'The public trusts Nitish and PM Modi as they have spearheaded Bihar's transformation.' He downplayed personal ambitions, expressing satisfaction with his role within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and dedication to the party's assigned duties.
When questioned about a potential BJP Chief Minister, Choudhary, also a BJP candidate from Tarapur, emphasized alliance dynamics, highlighting, 'Nitish Kumar is our party's face. The BJP once placed trust in Lalu in the 1990s, which he failed to honor. Although allied with Nitish for Bihar's progress, their ideologies remain divergent.' As the NDA comprises BJP and JD(U) contesting 101 seats each, with Lok Janshakti Party on 29, and both Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Hindustani Awam Morcha on six, they brace for a primary contest against Tejashwi Yadav's Mahagathbandhan, aiming to challenge NDA's Nitish Kumar leadership.
