The air quality blame game between Punjab and Delhi escalated as Punjab Minister Balbir Singh criticized statements from Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. Singh condemned Sirsa's claims linking Punjab's stubble burning to the haze in Delhi, highlighting a significant reduction in such incidents in his state.
As the air quality in Delhi remained poor, Sirsa accused the AAP-led government of allowing widespread stubble burning in Punjab, causing the national capital's pollution. He argued that AAP played politics, deflecting blame during festival celebrations.
Responding, Singh called Sirsa's accusations baseless, questioning the logic behind linking Punjab's farm fires to Delhi's pollution. He advocated for a collaborative solution involving all affected states, stressing that blaming Punjab farmers won't solve the pollution crisis.
