The potential sale of these advanced AI chips comes amid discussions between Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping in South Korea, focusing on semiconductor technologies. Trump hinted that while semiconductors were part of the talks, the Blackwell chips weren't specifically mentioned.

Export controls imposed by Washington have been a contentious issue, as they limit China's access to Nvidia's cutting-edge technology. Huang argues that easing these restrictions would benefit the U.S. and emphasizes the mutual dependency in the realm of AI hardware.
