Russia's Unyielding Attacks Amid Ukraine Peace Talks

Amid discussions for peace between Russia and Ukraine, Russia launched a large-scale attack killing two and wounding many in Ukraine. An overnight Russian assault on Ukraine resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two dozen more, as reported by Ukraine's Foreign Minister on Saturday. This attack comes while global deliberations are underway regarding peace strategies for the ongoing conflict.

According to Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Russia unleashed a barrage of cruise and ballistic missiles, along with over 500 drones aimed at civilian residences, energy facilities, and key infrastructure. Explosions rocked Kyiv throughout the night, claiming one life and wounding 15 others in the capital, as confirmed by the city's mayor.

Meanwhile, Ukraine is engaged in peace negotiations with the United States, which is attempting to mediate an accord between Kyiv and Moscow to conclude Russia's nearly four-year-long invasion. Although Kyiv and its European partners are advocating for peace, they have contested some initial U.S. proposals. Ukraine remains firm on maintaining its control over current territories and preserving its potential for future alliances.
