The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has voiced strong criticism against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, urging him not to "hide behind the lieutenant governor." The PDP claims the chief minister needs to act decisively amid ongoing demolition drives in the region.
PDP spokesperson Mehboob Beg emphasized that the elected government is accountable and should not avoid responsibility. He accused Chief Minister Abdullah of behaving more like an opposition leader and stressed the need for immediate action to prevent further displacement of citizens.
Beg also criticized the administration's handling of land rights issues and warned that if the government cannot protect the people from homelessness in freezing temperatures, it questions their authority and purpose.
