In a sharp rebuttal, Pakistan on Sunday criticized remarks made by India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, describing them as baseless and inflammatory. Jaishankar, speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, accused Pakistan's military of supporting terror groups, a statement that drew backlash from Islamabad.
Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson, Tahir Andrabi, denounced the comment as part of a propaganda campaign against the nation, reiterating that Pakistan is a responsible state where the military plays a pivotal role in national security.
The tensions between the two countries have recently been underscored by Operation Sindoor, an Indian military action in response to the Pahalgam attack. This operation included the use of airstrikes that reportedly damaged Pakistani military assets.
