In a fiery debate on electoral reforms in the Lok Sabha, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government, accusing it of 'capturing institutions' such as the Election Commission.
Gandhi vowed that once a Congress-led government assumes power, it would amend laws granting immunity to the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners, allowing them to be held accountable for their decisions.
The Congress leader also criticized the ruling party for allegedly manipulating voter lists and leveled accusations of 'vote chori.' He called for reforms including improved access to electoral data and scrutinizing electronic voting machines.
Additionally, Gandhi expressed concerns over the RSS's influence on India's institutions, claiming that its ideology promotes hierarchy and inequality.
The debate followed discussions marking the 150th anniversary of the patriotic song 'Vande Mataram.'
