In a bold statement on Saturday, Chief Minister Manik Saha declared that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to clinch victory in all 28 seats in the forthcoming elections for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
The TTAADC, under the current administration of the Tipra Motha Party (TMP)—a coalition partner—will see elections early next year. The TMP leadership has recently claimed significant impact on the BJP's 2023 Assembly elections win, a point Saha downplays by recalling BJP's success in 2018 without TMP support.
Saha forecasts a rally in Khumulwng, the TTAADC's headquarters, to bolster party morale. Undeterred by alliance frictions or external threats, Saha reiterates commitment to the indigenous population's welfare, urging cultural integrity amid calls for changes in the Kokborok language script.
