Union Minister and BJP MP JP Nadda launched a scathing attack on Congress on Tuesday, accusing the party of promoting misconceptions after electoral defeats. During a discussion on electoral reforms in the Rajya Sabha, Nadda defended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and expressed concerns over infiltrators on the voter lists.
Nadda took a dig at Congress, asserting that the Election Commission's oversight had historically been controlled by a single party led by a dominant family. He remarked, "The election results must certainly trouble you, Congress. You're misdirecting your efforts by blaming the Election Commission for your losses, thereby jeopardizing national interests for party gain."
He challenged the legitimacy of allowing infiltrators on electoral rolls and reiterated the necessity for transparent list revisions, stating that previous Congress governments had overseen such processes. The Rajya Sabha's discussion on electoral reforms follows a similar debate in the Lok Sabha amid Congress's protests over alleged "vote theft."
